About Birch Accounting & Tax Services Ltd.
Accounting and Tax Consultants in Leduc, Alberta
General Contractor Accounting | Construction & Trades Accounting | Outsourced Accounting | Cloud Accounting
Birch Accounting started in March 2006 after the birth of our first son in Surrey BC. Our premise was simple; fixed pricing provided up front so that you would know exactly what your outlay was for our service, whether it be bookkeeping or taxes you would not end up with a surprise bill at the end. Since that time nothing has changed (except maybe the size of our family!), we continue to provide the value of our experience and training and you our customers have reaped the benefits.
We started using desktop applications and thankfully with the improved technology we are now able to provide all services in the cloud, saving everyone time and by association, money. Bookkeeping is optimized in real time with online applications. Tax return information can be uploaded (and downloaded) using our secure encrypted portal. Business training can be done with screen sharing and webinars.
This is what allowed us to make the decision for our family to move to the small city of Leduc in 2013 without cutting off our customers from BC. We had already had experience on a small scale with out of town/country customers that had moved away but wanted to keep using our services but now we were able to implement those processes on a large scale.
We still work with our customers in person; our home, your home, your office or the local coffee shop in Surrey, Leduc and many places in between.
Amanda went to school for Business Management, with the intention of working in marketing and/or finance for someone else (anyone else but herself!). But she quickly realized that when working for someone else her time was not her own and there was no flexibility. Married in 2003 and her first child in 2005 she wanted to be able to be there for her kids and so Birch Accounting was born. Starting first with friends and family and branching out into the community business grew. Now with five kids and a thriving business, she is able to create the balance she needs between being “mom” and entrepreneur.
As a Diamond level QuickBooks ProAdvisor she is able to provide cloud and desktop accounting solutions to her customers, either training them how to do it themselves or partnering with them to give them the answers they seek.
She was also a member of the 2016 TSheets Pro Council, providing feedback and discussion with a Canadian perspective to the #1 rated Quickbooks integrated time tracking app in North America.
In her spare time (!) she watches the kids play hockey (goalie mom!) and Tae Kwon Do, as well as enjoys reading, crocheting and baking.
